As a first-time mom, I fell into the trap of needing everything but using only a few things. With baby no. 2 and the gained experience of doing it before, here are my favorites used with both babies. If you’re a first-time mom or not, you can’t go wrong with these must-haves in your home.
Dr. Brown’s Natural Flow Anti-Colic Options+ Wide-Neck
These were a life saver! With my first, she couldn’t take the narrow neck bottles. The wide neck was perfect for her and kept the reflux to a minimum. I’ve gifted these to all my friends and they love them too.
Philips Avent Soothie Baby Pacifiers
Nothing greater than these grow-with-baby pacifiers. They come in 0-3 month and move up to 3-6 month. My babies wouldn’t take any other pacifier except for these. We have many on hand so we’re never searching for more when she’s crying her heart out.
Lansinoh Breast Therapy Packs, Hot and Cold Breast-Pads with 2 Soft Covers
Calling all breast-feeding mamas! During those early days when your milk is regulating, these help prevent clogged ducts and relieve pain. Quick 30 seconds in the microwave and you’ve got a personalized hot milk helper! Used in your bra or over your flange while pumping, the heat helps let downs and relieves pain. Put into freezer and use cold too!
Munchkin® Arm and Hammer Diaper Bag
Never leave a stinky diaper anywhere! These doggie diaper bags hide odor from any gnarly diaper. I even use these for soiled clothes when I’m not at home. Just don’t forget which bag has clothes and which has the diaper or you’ll be throwing out the wrong one because you don’t smell it anymore!
I have many more mother must haves that I’ll share later. For now, let me know which ones are your favorite and if you’ve tried any of these!
~As always, Carolyn
