On my journey to read the bible front to back, I opened it and chose a book to read randomly.  Isaiah wasn’t one that I have heard much of but my heart needed it that day.

The word Father carries a negative weight in my heart.  My own father wasn’t much of a father that the Lord designed.  For so long I chose a different title to classify him but it wasn’t hurting him – it was hurting me.

Since then, I’ve graced his title as father again but it comes with peace instead of disgust.  My relationship with him hasn’t changed but my attitude toward him has.  “Father” has evolved into a more positive connotation now that my girls have a great father and the Lord our Father is leading my life.

Becoming a mother, there is nothing greater than loving my children.  My girls are everything and the drive behind my madness.  Just as our Father did for us.  He loves us with all His heart as we do for our children.  No greater love has been designed than one for a parent and their children.

God forgives.  God loves.  God protects.  God comforts.  It’s our duty as His children to forgive, love, protect, and comfort our children as he did for us.  It is our destiny to sacrifice, mold, and shape our next generation in His word.

I pray every day that my children never have to endure what I went through as a young child.  But the only true protection they have is His.  Introducing them to Him is a simple yet absolute way to prepare them for life and for a future.  It starts with you.  It starts with your comfort. Practice in your home and invite God into your lives.  Ask Him to protect, love, comfort and nurture your kids all the days of their life.
